Weekly One Reason To Get An RV Inspection – New RV Roof Lap Sealant

This Buyer Had An RV Inspection Near Me And Look At The RV Roof Lap Sealant Issue That Was Uncovered.

Hello, This is Jason with my Weekly One Reason to Get an RV Inspection.

I want to tell you it’s easy to find certified RV inspectors on MyRVResource.com. You can also find local RV technicians, RV storage lots, RV towing, RV transport, and many other RV service providers there.  Finding RV Inspections Near Me has never been easier.

Last week I showed you a one-month-old RV. It had a rubber grommet issue. It was inspected at the factory and at the dealership prior to our RV inspection; now I’m here three days after the dealership did their RV inspection.

Are you a seller who's preparing for an RV inspection on an RV you own? Check out this seller's guide on how to prepare for one.

What Did We Find?

I want to show you a little bit about your RVs roof. Sometimes, they’ll get air bubbles in the sealant because it’s not cured all the way.

Those air bubbles could (and do) pop. Well, what we know about that is, if air can get out of the roof, water can get in.

So we want to make sure for the first few months when we buy that new RV, none of those bubbles are happening, and if they are, we get up there and clean the area and apply some sealant to keep that from allowing water inside the RV.

So on this RV, that’s already been inspected twice. I wanted to show you the bubble I found on one of the vents, just to show you that it does happen. So we’re gonna take a look at the lap sealant right there. Do you see that little area? That is a bubble.  If not taken care of, water can get in.

Conclusion

So this is Jason with the Weekly One Reason to Get an RV Inspection

The RV was built one month ago and has had two prior RV inspections. None of them fixed the issue or none of them caught it. It’s important because water damage can ruin an RV. So have a nice day.
